Nutrition Meal Prep Class
May 23 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm$20
Meal prepping can be a convenient way to simplify your daily cooking routines and make your wellness journey easier to manage. It can also seem intimidating, overwhelming, time consuming, and just a lot of work. We all know how important it is for healthier living, but if you are not familiar with cooking methods, different types of food, or just prepping food in general, it can seem like an impossible task.
In this class, we will discuss the different ways you can meal prep to fit your lifestyle and different tips and tricks to make meal preparation and planning easier for you no matter what your cooking background may be. Whitney George, Functional Nutritionist and special guest chef will show tips for prepping crockpot meals, freezer meals, skillet, and sheet pan meals to make your healthier cooking habits easier to manage and accomplish. They will cover vegetable prep, best storing practices, and how far ahead you can meal prep different vegetables and food items. Participants will learn how to make one set of ingredients turn into multiple styles of cooking and utilize leftovers in multiple ways. Volunteers will be shown knife skills and cutting techniques to make prepping faster and more efficient.
In addition to our Functional Nutritionist, this class will be hosted alongside Crystal Barto, a professional chef with many years of experience. She attended culinary school at the Pennsylvania School of Culinary Arts where she received her associates degree in culinary arts and restaurant management. Crystal has worked in restaurants since she was 15 years old and have always had a love of working with food.
Cooking for yourself doesn’t have to be time consuming and stressful, it can be an adventure in learning and creativity, and preparation makes the journey easier!
