Energy Medicine Yoga (EMYoga) weaves the ancient healing techniques of Energy Medicine into yoga, balancing and harmonizing your own energy in order to tap into the body’s innate capacity for joy and optimal health. 

If you’ve been looking to enhance energy and vitality or to feel good in your body, learning to balance your energies is the first step! This class, EMYoga Essential Practice, is 75 minutes in length and includes a brief introduction explaining the bodies energies.

What is EMYoga?

Energy Medicine Yoga, founded by Lauren Walker, is an integrative practice that weaves ancient healing methods and modern science into yoga practice. 

EMYoga can be a powerful supplement to health and healing:  it’s a set of tools, practices, and wisdom that helps us activate our mind and body’s natural healing intelligence. It boosts vitality, stamina, health, and joy, in addition to balancing the endocrine, immune, and lymphatic systems.

EMYoga is for everyone—if you can breathe, you can do EMYoga—you do not have to be able to do a one-armed handstand or twist yourself into a pretzel.

WHAT IS ENERGY?

What do we mean by energy?  Everything in this world is pulsing energy, vibrating at different frequencies.  It is helpful to regard it as another layer of our being–we speak of the “self” as comprised of mind, body, and spirit.  For better understanding, it is helpful to think of energy as the fourth layer of the “self”.

HOW CAN EMYOGA HELP?

Any time that we feel “off-kilter” and experience a crisis physically, mentally, or spiritually, our energies need balancing.  Even if a crisis is not occurring and we feel tired, overwhelmed, anxious, full of anger, or sadness, it is a message that certain energies need balancing.  On a smaller scale, if we experience a period of doubt, have a bad night’s sleep, or break your leg, energy needs to be balanced. EMYoga teaches us to recognize disorganized energy, as manifested by a mental or physical ailment, and how to healthfully and lovingly respond toward equanimity.

Energy affects everything, including how we think and feel about our bodies, minds, and lives.  EMYoga can help cultivate intimacy, warmth, and acceptance with your self–a place from which true healing can occur.

THE 9 ENERGY SYSTEMS: 

Our body has NINE energy systems. While traditional yoga addresses the chakras, EMYoga utilizes ancient techniques and new tools to balance all nine of these systems. When in balance, these 9 systems help to keep you at your strongest & healthiest and also address the immune, endocrine and lymphatic systems.
